The companies and products battling it out for Hotelympia’s prestigious Innovation Awards have been chosen. They will go head-to-head in a final judgement at the industry show on Monday 27th February. The contenders across four product categories – Equipment, Food & Drink, Interiors and Technology – have been revealed as finalists for the Innovation Awards, which provide a high-profile platform and industry recognition for novel ideas. With six finalists in each category, the 2012 Innovation Awards return bigger, better and brighter. In a new twist, each will have to pitch their products behind closed doors in a pitch, testing their wits against a panel of specially invited hospitality industry leaders or ‘Innovation Idols’. Visitors to Hotelympia, which takes place from 26th February – 1st March, will be able to view all 24 finalists in the central boulevard throughout the five days giving a predicted 35,000 show visitors unique insight and product inspiration to take back to their own businesses. Equipment The companies and products nominated as finalists in the Equipment category are: Adande Refrigeration with its Adande Compact system; Hobart with its AUP warewashing equipment; Glen Dimplex Professional Appliances with its Burco Synergy Grill; Iglu Cold-Systems (Iglu CO2 Refrigeration); Rational (SelfCooking Center®whitefficiency®) and Control Induction with its Slider induction cooker. Food & Drink The finalists in the Food & Drink category are: Bridor with its Arc en Ciel product; The Cheese Warehouse with Cheese Melts; Nestlé with its CHEF Flakes range of Jus’; Imaginative Cuisine (Freshburst Pearls); Speciality Breads (Luxury Individual Fruited Panettone) and Oranka Fruit Juices (Vitamin Choice). Interiors The contenders in the Interiors category are: Burgess Furniture with its Meet-U Table System; StableTable for its product of the same name; GO IN UK for its Xenon seating range; AllerGuard UK with its bedding system of the same name; Buffet Systems (Cryo Glass Merlin) and Evolin with its Evolin range which combines single-use convenience with the premium look and feel of linen. Technology The companies and products competing in the final of the Technology category are: Agile Hospitality Solutions with its Events500 booking system; Bermar with its Pod Bar2 modular refrigeration cabinet; Draught Beer Online with its Portable Draught Beverage Dispense system; Restaurantdiary.com (Resdiaries iPad App); Integrated Control Corporation (Temp Minder/CCP Minder) and Guestline (Web-based Hospitality Suite). The winner of Hotelympia’s 2012 Innovation Awards will be announced on the Stage at 5pm, Monday 27th February.
