Wales and West Training Event

This Regional Training Event was a big success in March. Taking place in the Cirencester Food Centre; it provided an excellent insight into how to cater for customers with dietary requirements. Jewish, dairy free, gluten free, Vegan and other forms of specialised recipes were covered (and cooked to high standards) by those taking part, with discussions afterwards regarding any difficulties.

An organic taste, sight and smell test also took place – with some chefs donning blindfolds to see if they could tell the difference ordinary and organic foods. This was coupled with a brief overview of Ashlyn Organics, the local suppliers and training school who held the event.

In the afternoon, participants had a theory session in the afternoon on dietary requirements. Finally, those who took part received certificates and CDs with the specialised recipes on.

There were talks of some participants planning to visit each other in the year, showing that these events are great for networking aswell as development.
