Welcome to TUCO Purchasing

TUCO tenders framework agreements in areas of high volume, for commodities that led themselves to national agreements. TUCO has set up a National Purchasing Group (NPG) to oversee its purchasing.

TUCO does not tender for specialist services, nor in areas where requirements will be specific to individual members. TUCO’s Tender Plan lists the areas of current activity.
TUCO has appointed Collective Enterprises Limited (CEL) as its Service Provider, to provide administrative support for the purchasing activities of TUCO. The appointment commenced on 1 November 2003 and the contract runs for a period of six years.

The role of the Service Provider is twofold. The first and prime task is the administration of our existing and growing number of agreements. The second task is to tender commodities that the NPG's research has shown may lend themselves to national agreements. The tender process starts with the establishment of a tender group, which should be representative of the membership and, ideally, likely users of the agreement. A member of the NPG will lead the tender group; or the group will nominate a lead member who will join the NPG. Where we are able to let a national agreement, CEL will then take on the contract administration.
From time-to-time we will also establish agreed terms with certain suppliers, where this is seen to be of benefit to Members, although this will generally be a temporary arrangement in advance of a tender being undertaken.
